Lindsay, December 9, 2009
The Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation applauds the outstanding efforts of the Kiwanis Club over the years and wishes its members a heartfelt thanks for their ongoing support of the Ross. It was a bittersweet gathering at the Lindsay Boys & Girls Club on December 7th, as the five remaining members of the Kiwanis Club made three final cheque presentations before disbanding.
The donations were made to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation, Women's Resources and the Lindsay Boys & Girls Club.

The Kiwanis members, Mark Edwards, Lyn Edwards, Goard Sloan, Karen Dunn and Frank Konopaski, presented a cheque for $10,000 to Brenda De Koker and Erin Coons of the RMH Foundation, to be directed to the future campaign which will raise funds to purchase MRI and CT units.
"We share the Kiwanis Club's sadness that declining membership has brought the Kiwanis Club to an end, but we're honoured that its members chose the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation to be one of the final organizations where it will make a difference. Truly, the impact of the Kiwanis Club in this area will go on and on, as all of its good deeds continue to grow fruit."
"The Kiwanis Club has been a loyal supporter of the Foundation since it began fundraising for the Hospital 20 years ago," said Coons. "In fact, with this donation, the Kiwanis Club's total contribution amounts to more than $69,000 - that's phenomenal! What a testament to their commitment to families in this community."
The Kiwanis Club was established in Lindsay 87 years ago in 1922. At its peak, the club had more than 100 members.
