Good Tidings We Bring PDF  | Print |

Good tidings continue to come in to the Foundation office at the Ross Memorial Hospital as more and more donations are made to the annual Christmas Appeal. This year, funds raised for the Christmas Appeal will help the Hospital to purchase new vascular technology for the CT unit.

By February 18th, more than $130,000 had been pledged by our generous donors!
That brings us even closer to our goal of $140,000.

The Appeal letters were delivered throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes in late November. In the letter, Dr. Juliet Franczyk and Dr. Tom Stefopolus describe their individual experiences when they suffered from subarachnoid bleeds - what happened and how they were diagnosed.

As a result of their personal experience, the physicians are able to explain first hand, the importance of having advanced diagnostic technology available.

This computerized diagnostic software will help us to locate problems and determine the best treatment for our patients in as limailbox_and_slogan.jpgttle time as possible. Currently, to access that kind of detail, patients are transferred to hospitals with CT units that have this capability. By adding the vascular CT technology, a patient can be scanned, and his or her images can be reviewed by physicians before the patient leaves the table. This data becomes a diagnosis within minutes.

New vascular technology gives our physicians a good look into their patients' circulatory system. That's good news.
