The Ross Memorial Hospital's CT (Computed Tomography) Unit was one of the oldest in the province, and after performing over 80,000ct_moving_out_001.jpg scans in 10 years, it had reached the end of its useful life.

Early this month, the old CT was removed from the Diagnostic Imaging department, to make room for the new 128 slice CT that will serve our patients needs in the future.

The Foundation is pleased to assist the Hospital with the purchase of the new CT. With the proceeds from the annual Spring Appeal contributing to the purchase of the equipment, the Foundation is pleased to report that the new CT will be installed and operational later this spring. Donors make the difference at RMH!

We're very excited to update our donors on the progress of our Spring Appeal. Thanks to the participation of Alana Murray and her family, our appeal is proving very successful - we're already more than halfway to our goal of $80,000! alana_murray.jpg

Alana Murray is only 18 years old, but she has a unique understanding of the importance of Diagnostic Imaging tools, such as CT scans, when it comes to treating injury and illness. It was a CT scan at RMH that identified an AVM (arterial venous malformation) in Alana's brain a year ago. And it was diagnostic imaging technology that assisted physicians in Toronto to plan and perform the surgery that successfully removed the AVM.

Now, Alana and her family are sharing their story in hopes of inspiring others to help purchase a new CT for the Ross Memorial - to ensure physicians have the most detailed view inside their patients bodies, giving people like Alana the quality of care they deserve.
