H1N1 Information

As we continue to hear about the H1N1 pandemic and how it's progressing, the news is fairly consistent: the majority of cases are mild. To date, only a very small percentage of people who contract H1N1 require hospitalization.

Help for Unattached Patients

The Central East LHIN has established an Unattached Patient Assessment & Referral Centre in the Kawartha Lakes region for people who need an annual medical check-up but who don't have access to a family doctor or nurse practitioner.

Beginning August 27th, a team of family physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses will provide people with a full medical assessment and referrals if necessary. The team will also help residents to find additional health care and support while they're waiting to be connected to a family physician or nurse practitioner in the area.
