We provide:
- Individualized exercise programs and risk factor assessment
- Group exercise classes

- Communication with your doctor/nurse practitioner
- Mentorship for students and community partners
- Keynote Speakers and displays for community groups
- A Respiratory Educator who will review COPD and your puffers
Our team, comprised of a physiotherapist, rehab assistant, nurse and respiratory therapist, will work with you and your doctor/nurse practitioner to ensure you get the best possible care for managing you lung disease.
Hours of Operation: Tuesday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.

Who can participate?
Adults with Lung Disease: COPD (Emphysema, Chronic Bronchitis), Restrictive Lung Disease, Asthma, Lung Transplant
How do I register?
Your family doctor/nurse practitioner or cardiologist/internist must refer you to the program. The cost of the program is $100 (for materials). Click here to download a healthfirst referral form.
How long is the program?
The exercise program runs 12 weeks (two times per week for 60 minutes). Home Exercise Programs can be prepared.
What education classes are offered?
All clients have access to the healthfirst Learning Opportunities (click here to return to the main Healthfirst page for Learning Opportunities).
What should I bring to my Appointment?
- Red Hospital Card
- Reading glasses, hearing aid if needed
- ALL medications in their original bottles, prescribed and over-the-counter, including herbals and vitamins
- Prior to the appointment, we request that clients do not drink any caffeine 4 hours prior or any alcohol 48 hours prior to appointment.
- Friend or family to accompany you
Where is it located?
The Pulmonary (Lung) rehabilitation program is located at the Ross Memorial Hospital on the first floor entering off of Kent Street.
