Lindsay, November 4, 2004

On Thursday November 4th at 2:00 p.m., Ross Memorial Hospital held their 2004 Long Service Awards Ceremony. Staff members were honoured at a special awards presentation for their years of service, dedication and commitment to Ross Memorial Hospital.

This year, there are 26 staff members celebrating over 25 years of service, and two staff members will be receiving recognition for 35 years of service. (See Long Service Awards Ceremony Program for the names of the recipients.)

Also being recognized at the Ceremony will be the Individual and Team recipients of the 2004 James Ross Award of Excellence. These peer nominated awards recognize and thank staff for their exceptional initiative in going beyond their defined role and exceeding expectations.

Winners of the Individual James Ross Awards were:
Dr Paul Anderson Physician category
Janice Bradley RN/RPN category
Brian Eberts Support/Clerical category
Bryan Hopkins Paramedical category

This year’s Team Recipient was the Stores Department. Members of the Team are:
Mary Ballam Janine Heron
Gail Bonisteel Frank McDonald
Rod Forwell Paul Morasse
Jim Greer Russ Parson
Joanne Head

The James Ross Awards are currently peer nominated awards. However, in January 2005 RMH will be launching the James Ross Community Award of Excellence. This is an opportunity for community members to provide input, either as a patient or a visitor. They will have the opportunity to formally recognize the Ross Team for the extra steps they took to make someone’s stay or visit a little easier and/or more comfortable; and for doing so with excellence.
