Visitor and Volunteer Restrictions Remain in Place during SARS Emergency PDF  | Print |
Lindsay, April 8, 2003

Ross Memorial Hospital’s restrictions with respect to visitors, volunteers and all non-essential personnel remains in effect.

At this time, there has not been a provincial directive issued to Ontario hospitals with respect to relaxing these restrictions. The following clarification was issued earlier today:

“…the Provincial Operations Committee (OC) clarified that it did not issue
a statement relaxing the rules for hospital visitors in Ontario… the POC was
looking into the issue of relaxing the regulations for visitors and volunteers.”

Until Ross Memorial receives further direction from the Provincial Operations Committee on SARS, the Hospital will continue to remain closed to all volunteers and non-essential individuals. The Hospital will also remain closed to all visitors except for compassionate grounds; for example, critically ill patients, terminally ill patients, children and newborns. Each of these patients is allowed one visitor at a time.
