On Tuesday, December 3, Ross Memorial Hospital Community Counselling Services will host the tenth annual Christmas Dinner for individuals with mental illness and their families. Dinner will be held at the Moose Lodge. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. This is the fourth year that the Lodge is sponsoring the event. The evening will also feature entertainment, draws, and sing-a-longs. Once again, Carol Bradford, who is a volunteer with Ross Memorial, will play the piano during dinner. This is the third year that Carol Bradford has provided musical entertainment for the dinner. There is no charge to attend this Christmas celebration, thanks to the generous donations from many community organizations, including the Moose Lodge, the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation, Sears, Clearview Window Cleaning, Terveld's Total Car Care and Highstone Masonry. Molly McCrea, Director, Community Counselling Services, is touched by the continued kindness and generosity of the community. "We are so appreciative of everyone who has offered to support and contribute to this special dinner for people with mental illness," explains Molly. "We are very grateful to our sponsors for their assistance; and we are looking forward to the music by Carol Bradford, who also played at the dinner last year. Special recognition also needs to be given to the staff who dedicate many hours towards making this a memorable evening." The response from clients and their families has been overwhelming and everyone is excited about celebrating the season among family and friends. Approximately 130 people attend the dinner each year. |
