Partial Closure of Emergency Enterance at Ross Memorial Hospital PDF  | Print |
Lindsay, November 18, 2002

Throughout this week, as part of the construction process, contractors will be working on the Kent Street parking lot of Ross Memorial Hospital. This work includes the digging up of part of the sidewalk adjacent to the building, as well as the hoisting of large equipment onto the roof and into the sub-basement. During this period, there will be access limitations to the Hospital via the Emergency entrance.

Specifically, on Thursday, November 21st, commencing at 7:00 a.m., the Kent Street parking lot and half of the ambulance turnaround at the current Emergency entrance will be closed while a crane hoists the equipment. A lane will be open for vehicles to reach the Angeline Street entrance. This work is expected to take place throughout the entire day.

During this time, the following changes will be in effect:

  • The Emergency entrance will be available for ambulances and emergency patients only. All other patients, staff and visitors will be re-directed to the Angeline Street entrance.
  • Parking in the Kent Street parking lot will be limited to 6 - 8 spaces in total, which will be designated for handicapped parking only. These spaces will be available at the west end of the Kent Street parking lot.
  • Security and Hospital staff will be patrolling the area throughout the day to assist with the directing of traffic.

Ross Memorial Hospital appreciates everyone's patience and co-operation during this period of inconvenience.
