SMILE WITH TIM HORTONS, HELP ROSS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL PDF  | Print |
September 27, 2002 - Lindsay, Ontario Smile Cookies are here! But only for a limited time - so get to Tim Hortons many times before September 30th and eat cookies, smile and help Ross Memorial Hospital.

All stores in Lindsay, Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls will be participating in this year's Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Program, which begins today. Cookies will be available up to and including September 30th. Customers will have the opportunity to purchase a special double-sized chocolate chip Smile Cookie for $0.75, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to Ross Memorial Hospital.

Funds will be used to purchase a non-invasive monitor for the Paediatrics unit at the Hospital. This unit takes blood pressure and oxygen saturation from a clip on the finger. Any additional funds beyond the purchase of the monitor will be used to purchase sleeper chairs for the paediatric rooms, which will enable a family member to comfortably remain in the room with their child, 24-hours per day.

In 2001, all four Tim Hortons locations in Lindsay were selling Smile Cookies in support of Ross Memorial Hospital. That program raised $6,066.75 and Ross Memorial was able to purchase paediatric equipment for the upcoming expanded Emergency Department.

This year, the stores in Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls are joining the Lindsay stores in support of Ross Memorial Hospital.

"We are very excited by the Smile Cookie Program at Tim Hortons," says Eric Dean, Executive Director, Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation. "Last year's program was a great success, thanks to Allan Chapman, owner of the four Lindsay Tim Hortons stores and all the staff. According to statistics, they sold over 8,000 cookies, which equalled one cookie sold every two and a half minutes over the two-week period of the program. We are looking forward to working with the Lindsay stores, as well as the Bobcaygeon and Fenelon Falls stores, who are joining the program this year. It's fun, it's delicious and, best of all, it helps children coming to the Hospital."
