LINDSAY LEGION AIDS IN PURCHASE OF CATARACT INSTRUMENTS PDF  | Print |
January 22, 2003 - Lindsay, Ontario Today, representatives of the Royal Canadian Legion, Lindsay Branch 67 were on hand to present a cheque in the amount of $10,000 toward the recent purchase of new surgical cataract instruments.

The funds were made available by the Ontario Provincial Command Branches and Ladies' Auxiliaries Charitable Foundation.

Dr. David Lane and Dr. Jim Cooper, Ophthalmologists, as well as Carol Findlay, Registered Nurse, Operating Room received the cheque on behalf of the Hospital. The cataract instruments include six bundles/trays of surgical instruments for cataract procedures. The Hospital now has a total of 12 cataract instrument trays. With the increase in volume of patients and cataract operations, as well as two ophthalmologists at the Ross, the additional instrument sets help to ease the flow of patients through the operating room, as the wait for the cleaning and change over of the instruments has now decreased.
