A Special Thanks to our Partners in the Auxiliary
At the Auxiliary's Annual General Meeting on June 7th, the volunteers presented two cheques totaling $175,000 to the Foundation. These pledge payments are part of the volunteers' commitment to help fund the purchase of new digital mammography equipment for the Diagnostic Imaging department.
Our New Board of Directors
On June30th, the Foundation held its Annual General Meeting at the hospital. During this meeting, several new Board members were welcomed, and those whose terms were ending, were thanked for their valuable volunteer service.
Among the new Board members are Brian Kelsey of Pickseed and Heather Richardson of Staples & Swain Professional Corporation, both of whom will serve two year terms and sit on the Board's Finance Committee.
John Fox of Canadian Tire and Boston Pizza was nominated for a one year term. John is the chair of the upcoming diagnostic imaging campaign.
Board members Gary Poole and Michael Locke both renewed two year terms as Directors.
Appointed members from the RMH Board of Governors are Herb Gamble, Treasurer of the Board of Governors, and Gillian Vernon, Director of Fundraising for the Auxiliary.
The Foundation team offers a warm welcome to these new members.
At the same time, three long-serving members of the Foundation's Board of Directors have completed their terms and were recognized for their time and efforts.
John Hunter worked at RMH for more than thirty years, retiring as the Director of Physiotherapy. John has been a dedicated Board member and will continue to volunteer as a community representative on Committee.
Dr. Robert Watson will also continue to volunteer as a Committee member, but is retiring from the Board. Dr. Waton's 40-plus year career as a surgeon at RMH was of great assistance to the Foundation; his involvement has been invaluable.
And after ten years on the Foundation's Board of Directors, Ivan Reynolds' term has ended - but not his commitment to the Ross. Ivan (pictured with Board Chair, Brenda De Koker) is now a member of the hospital's Board of Governors. Ivan was recognized for his contributions to the hospital at the RMH Annual General Meeting earlier in June with an honourary membership to the Board.
