Today, Ross Memorial Hospital honoured physicians at the 2006 Medical Staff Appreciation ceremony. Physicians were recognized for their years of service, dedication and commitment to Ross Memorial Hospital. This year, there were 11 members of medical staff celebrating milestones in their years of service, with 8 physicians receiving recognition for over 20 years of service. 5 years of service: Dr. William Post Dr. Glenn Garneys 10 years of service: Dr. Steve Hainer 20 year of service: Dr. Chris Jackson Dr. Rose Jackson 25 years of service: Dr. Basil Baeta Dr. Edwin Chan Dr. Peter Petrosoniak 30 years of service: Dr. George Winters Dr. Virginia Winters 35 years of service: Dr. Dickson Vinden Also acknowledged at the ceremony were those physicians who mentored medical students, participated with rural medicine week or assisted with the 2006 health professionals recruitment tour. The James Ross Award of Excellence – Physician Recipient was also announced. Dr. Ralph Manmohansingh was nominated by his peers for this prestigious annual award that recognizes staff and physicians who go above and beyond in their duties at Ross Memorial Hospital. Dr. Manmohansingh’s nomination included comments such as: “As a clinician, Dr. Manmohansingh is always available at all hours to his patients and colleagues. He is a mentor, educator and role model.” |
