This year, 18 staff members celebrated over 25 years of service, and one staff member received recognition for 40 years of service.  (See Long Service Awards Ceremony Program for the names of the recipients)

Also recognized at the Ceremony were the Individual and Team recipients of the 2006 James Ross Award of Excellence.  These annual peer nominated awards recognize and thank staff for their exceptional initiative in going beyond their defined role and exceeding expectations.

Winners of the Individual James Ross Awards are:

Physician category: Dr. Ralph Manmohansingh
RN/RPN category: Beverlee Groves-Foley
Support Services category: Glenn Robertson
Paramedical category: Susan MacDonald
Administrative category: Pam Druce

This year’s Team Recipient was the Diagnostic Imaging Department (DI).

The criteria of the individual awards indicates that candidates shall: be champions of change, show respect, be a team player, and show excellence by going above and beyond in all that they do.  The Team award is given to those groups that demonstrate: a positive impact on the organization, can communicate across departments, have a united voice, serve as champions of change and exhibit excellence above and beyond what is required.

The nomination for Diagnostic Imaging included such comments as, “Through all of the changes that have taken place, the DI Team has worked together to learn the new equipment while continuing to exhibit excellent patient care skills.  They have shown patience and teamwork as they worked to adapt to new x-ray equipment, renovations, the PACS system and the retirement of a long standing leader.  The team just continued to get stronger in the face of every challenge.”
