City of Kawartha Lakes businesses are being targeted in an advertising initiative that misrepresents hospital involvement. The company is seeking financial support for sponsorship of the ‘Healing Hands Busy Book’.  The company is telling businesses that this book is sent to children in hospital.

Ross Memorial Hospital is not involved in this book project, nor does it endorse or support the distribution of the book in any way. 

Should a business be approached by this company, Ross Memorial Hospital advises businesses that they are under no obligation to participate.

The Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation and Auxiliary are the only groups authorized by the Hospital to solicit for donations, and they do not use telemarketing firms or activity books for solicitation.
