Lindsay, August 24, 2007
Brian Payne, Ross Memorial Hospital President and CEO is pleased to announce the local results of the 2007 Hospital Report. The Report is a research tool, created through a joint initiative of the Ontario Hospital Association and the Ontario Ministry of Health & Long Term Care.
The 2007 Hospital Report shows that the Ross Memorial Hospital continues to meet and exceed provincial benchmarks in all four categories: Clinical Utilization and Outcomes, System Integration and Change, Patient Satisfaction and Finance.
“This report shows us that we’re continuing to progress in all areas, particularly Patient Satisfaction,” says Payne. “The Hospital ranked above the provincial target in areas such as Overall Satisfaction, Impression of Care Received, Physical Comfort, Responsiveness to Patient Needs, Respect and Courtesy. Our staff and physicians work hard to ensure patient satisfaction. It’s one of our key goals.” Payne adds, “While we’re proud of our results, we’re continuing to focus on ways to improve our services and this report assists with that quest.”
The Report focuses on Hospital performance in 143 specific areas. Information for the Ross Memorial Hospital is applicable in 100 of those categories. In that list, the Hospital met or exceeded the target 94 times.
Although the Report is, for the most part, a tool for hospitals to track their progress and compare their results with similar-sized facilities, it was also developed to assure public accountability. The Report offers a snapshot of the province’s hospital system, and gives the public an understanding of how their local community hospital is performing.
