A group of golfers in the City of Kawartha Lakes have found a great reason to hit the links, and a wonderful way to give to the Ross Memorial Hospital.
After a visit to the RMH Diagnostic Imaging Department, Therese Scheer learned that some of the breast screening equipment needed upgrading. So she came up with a simple solution: she invited friends to golf together and she collected a donation from the group. Therese Scheer’s invitational golf event raised $1515.00.
Therese then challenged golfers at other golf courses around the City of Kawartha Lakes, with fabulous results. Four other groups participated with events of their own. $865.00 was raised by the Dunsford Seniors team, the Sturgeon Point Ladies League raised $336.21, and the Western Trent Ladies League raised $901. Members of those teams joined Erin Coons of the RMH Foundation in the Diagnostic Imaging Department on October 22nd, where she thanked them for their generosity and their initiative.
