Lions Double their Dialysis Donation PDF  | Print |
Lindsay, February 21, 2008 Today, members of the Lindsay Lions Club gathered at the Ross Memorial Hospital to make a special presentation, a repeat performance, in fact. The Lions are back to present a second cheque for $5000 to the RMH Foundation. The funds will go toward the community’s share of the cost of the permanent Dialysis Unit.

“What an incredibly generous gift,” says Erin Coons, Executive Director of the RMH Foundation. “This donation to the On the Horizon Dialysis Campaign brings us even closer to our goal of $2.2 million. It’s clear that offering dialysis service locally is a priority for the Lions, as it is for us. On behalf of the community, we thank each and every one of them.”

Back in July, the Lions donated $5000 to help purchase the specialized equipment for the Dialysis Unit. The 40 members of the Lindsay Lions Club have been working to raise this money by holding bingos and dances, selling Nevada tickets and Christmas cakes, and collecting pop can tabs. The Lions support as many as 50 causes each year, and every year, they direct funds to help patients at the Hospital. But the Dialysis project is dear to their hearts. As Lions’ President Rick Roddy explains, “Everyone knows someone who needs it”.
