Today, members of the Fenelon Falls & District Lions Club gathered at the Ross Memorial Hospital to make a special presentation in honour of a colleague. On behalf of the Lions Club, President Susan Tate presented a cheque for $2000 to Erin Coons, Executive Director of the RMH Foundation, in memory of James Griffin.

James Griffin was the last charter member of the Fenelon Falls & District Lions Club; he passed away last month. "In the last few years, Jim's health was not very good," says Tate, "but although he was not as actively involved in community projects, he seldom missed a meeting." To help keep him involved, the Club made him a foster parent of a puppy at the Oakville Dog Guide School, supporting the dog's training with donations.

The Fenelon Falls & District Lions Club consists of 25 members, all of whom will remember James Griffin as a member who could always be counted upon to speak up and offer an opinion. The Club's donation of $2000 will be directed to the Palliative Care Unit.
