The largest component of Ross Memorial's expansion project is the two-storey Continuing Care Program wing. The new wing provides accommodation for the 49 existing Complex Care beds, as well as 16 Rehabilitation beds and 10 Palliative Care beds.

With the new space, the continuing care program has more than doubled in size, while providing a more comfortable setting for patients and their families.

The unit offers an environment that encourages personal independence and family involvement.  It provides social and activity areas, common dining rooms, landscaped gardens and roof terraces, accessible washrooms and bathing facilities, and more spacious patient rooms.

This attention to innovative design is important for the patients of the Continuing Care Wing as their care requires them to remain in hospital for typically 30-60 days.  This design promotes mobility and activity as well as provides an environment which respects the dignity and privacy of the patients. Patient have a safe place for personal items and have rooms large enough to display the special keepsakes that personalize their stay with us.

The Continuing Care Program includes:

Complex Continuing Care

Rehabilitation

Palliative Care

Recreation Therapy
