The Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to accept the final installment of a $7,500 pledge from the Kiwanis Club of Lindsay. The money is helping the Hospital to purchase a new obstetrical probe for the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Erin Coons, Executive Director of the RMH Foundation accepted the cheque from Mark and Lyn Edwards of the Kiwanis Club.

Obstetrical probes are used for obstetrical, gynecology and abdominal work. The new probe is called a "curved array matrix 7". It has a smaller convex contact surface than other models, so it fits better on the abdomen and pelvis and allows for a wider field of view than the regular linear array configuration. This provides better, more uniform resolution and superior image quality.

"We're happy to have the ongoing support of the Kiwanis Club," said Coons. "This donation is a good fit with the fetal monitor the Club helped to purchase in the past. We know the Club's members put in a lot of volunteer time to raise each dollar they donate the Hospital. We really appreciate it - every dollar makes a difference."
