RMH Auxiliary "Part of the Team" Scholarship Criteria

Applicants for the “Part of the Team” Scholarship must meet the following criteria in their application:

1.  Applicants must have completed a minimum of one year of employment in any department at RMH in a permanent, part-time or volunteer position.

2.  Applicants must have demonstrated commitment and dedication to RMH and must be willing to make a commitment to continue their work at Ross Memorial Hospital for two years following successful completion of their program.

3.  Applicants must show growth potential in their chosen profession at the RMH and provide written evidence of their program enrolment.

4.  Applicants must identify potential benefits of the training to RMH.

5.  Applicants may apply yearly as long as they have incurred educational costs (i.e. tuition, examination costs, and books) during the current calendar year.

6.  An applicant who is currently enrolled in an academic program should also provide information of their performance/standing in their program. Applicants will apply using the “Part of the Team Scholarship” application form (Appendix “E”) along with a covering letter. All sections of the application must be completed.

7.  Applications must be received by the Selection Committee by November 1st. Selection will be made in December.  All applicants will be notified of the results in January with cheques being mailed to successful applicants with their letters. Successful applicants will be asked to attend the Auxiliary’s annual awards meeting in March for formal recognition by the Auxiliary. 

8.  The Selection Committee will consider all other sources of education assistance in making their decisions.

9.  It is expected that successful applicants will acknowledge the financial assistance of the RMHA so that this can be shared with the general membership who are responsible for raising the money.

Applications are to be directed confidentially to the Director, Human Resources, Ross Memorial Hospital.
