The Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to accept a generous contribution from the Woodville Lions Club for the Christmas Appeal for Digital Mammography. Today, the Woodville Lions' current and past presidentwoodville_lions_dig_mam_002.jpgs, George Wilson and Andrew Veale presented a cheque for $1000 to Erin Coons, the Executive Director of the RMH Foundation.

"The Woodville Lions Club feels strongly about supporting the Ross Memorial," said George Wilson. "We try to give to the Hospital regularly. That way, everyone benefits."

"We're so appreciative of the work the Woodville Lions put into their fundraising efforts," said Erin Coons. "Their members have a long history of supporting the Ross. We're proud to have them in our Tradition of Giving program; their contributions have been recognized with plaques on our donor walls in the Hospital."

A mammogram is an x-ray of a breast, one which allows radiologists to see problem areas which could be cancerous. Using conventional film-screen mammography, these tiny abnormalities can be difficult to see, especially in younger women with dense breast tissue. Digital mammography provides a clearer picture, even through dense breast tissue.
