Before the Dragon Flies dragon boat was launched for the season, members of the crew brought it by RMH for a photo. Altogether, there are six teams from the Ross participating in this year's Festival, which takes place on June 20th in Palmer Park, Port Perry. The crews are made up of staff from almost every area of the Hospital, and their team names are a good indication of the fun they have, i.e. The Misfit Bailers and the I.V. League.

The Dragon Flies Dragon Boat Festival promotes breast cancer awareness, provides support for breast cancer survivors and raises funds for diagnosis and treatment at four local hospitals, including the Ross. In the past four years, the Festival has raised more than $392,000 in total.
The Dragon Flies have donated $98,078 to the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation.
With help from these donations, the Hospital has purchased a sentinel node machine, a mammoviewer, and most recently, digital mammography equipment.
Thanks to all of the paddlers and those who pledge them. You're making a difference!
