Lindsay, October 8, 2009
Today the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation welcomed the District Governor of the Rotary Club, Richard Levert. Levert and local Rotarians were provided a tour through the new Dialysis Unit, and shown how local donations have helped the Hospital to create a state-of-the-art treatment facility.
Levert offered his congratulations as local Rotary President Chief John Hagarty presented a cheque for $3500 to Erin Coons, Executive Director of the RMH Foundation. This contribution is part of the Lindsay Rotary Club's total pledge of $10,000 to the "On the Horizon" Dialysis campaign.
"We're so appreciative of the work the Rotary Club does on our behalf," said Coons. "And we're thrilled to be able to show what's been achieved through the generosity of groups such as the Rotary Club, and individuals in the community."
More than 50 local patients are now able to receive their dialysis treatments at Ross Memorial. The new unit is helping to meet a growing need for dialysis services in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
