Discharge Process

Discharge time is 10:00 a.m. Make certain you take all personal belongings with you when you leave.

Any charges for transportation servies are your responsibility.

Your doctor and/or nurse will discuss discharge plans with you in order that you can make necessary transportation arrangements. If a friend or family member is unable to pick you up, community resources are available or staff will arrange for a taxi.

If you have concerns about your care once discharged, please discuss this with your doctor or nurse. If required, the Hospital's Discharge Planner can provide you with information concerning extra care available in the community, as well as give you options for respite care, retirement homes and nursing homes.

If your condition necessitates staying in the Hospital until a space in a long-term care facility is available, Hospital staff will discuss applicable charges.

Prescriptions for medications may be filled at any one of several pharmacies located close to the Hospital.
