Thanks to the generous donors who contributed to the Spring Appeal in 2008, which raised funds for the RMH Eye Suite, Dr. David Lane says the new equipment is making a significant difference for patients requiring eye surgery.

"The new B-scan ultrasound allows people to have specialized diagnostic testing without having to travel to Toronto," says Dr. Lane. "We also have a high definition video system linked to the operating microscope, which provides our eye centre with some of the most advanced equipment in the province. We've also benefitted from a fourth stretcher, which is specially designed for this type of surgery. It helps us to be more efficient."

Donors' outstanding response to the "Seeing is Believing" Appeal helped the Foundation to far exceed its goal of $80,000.
