RMH hosting Blood Typing Clinic on July 15th

What’s your type?

Most people don’t know their blood type. If you have ever wondered what your blood type is, or if you are curious about what happens when you give blood, you can find out at a Blood Typing Clinic at the Ross Memorial Hospital (main lobby) on
Wednesday, July 15th between 11:30am and 1:30pm.

The process involves a quick and practically painless finger prick for a couple of drops of blood. In less than two minutes, you can learn your blood type. Everyone age 17 and older is invited to attend.

Did you know?

· The most common blood type in Canada is O Positive

· The rarest blood type in Canada is AB Negative

· Those with O Negative blood are considered “universal blood donors” because patients of all blood types can receive O Negative blood

· All blood types are needed

This is your opportunity to become a member of the most important blood type — the type that saves lives. The need for blood and blood products never stops. Cancer patients, trama victims, patients needing life-saving surgery and many more depend on a stable supply of blood year round.
