Volunteers make 2nd pledge payment to Imagine campaign

Writing a cheque for $150,000 is a remarkable feat when the funds are raised a dollar at a time, with events and promotions, selling coffee and treats, and gift shop wares. But for the second time in as many years, the Ross Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has managed just that.

At the Auxiliary’s Annual General Meeting on June 4th, volunteers presented the RMH Foundation with another cheque for $150,000. The Auxiliary is the lead donor in the Imagine campaign, which is raising funds for the purchase of the MRI and CT and the redevelopment of the Diagnostic Imaging department. This is the Auxiliary’s second installment toward its total pledge of $750,000 over five years.

“On behalf of the Imagine campaign cabinet, I’d like to thank you for your dedication to this project,” said John Fox, chair of the Imagine campaign cabinet. “Without your leadership and your involvement at the very outset of this campaign, we wouldn’t have this equipment here today. Your support really is saving lives. And we appreciate all of your hard work that goes into these pledge payments.”

The MRI unit and new 128-slice CT scanner are already operational at the Ross Memorial Hospital and are impacting our patients’ lives every day. With the generous help of the Auxiliary, businesses and organizations and donors in the community, the Foundation has raised 98% of its fundraising goal of $5.8 million.
