(Lindsay, ON) – Ross Memorial Hospital celebrated our team members during our annual Long Service and Excellence Awards in the hospital cafeteria today.

The awards celebrate RMH employees and professional staff marking significant milestones at the hospital, along with individuals nominated by their peers in specific categories of excellence.

The 151 Long Service Award recipients this year are employees and professional staff who have worked at Ross Memorial for a minimum of 5 years, and up to 45 years.

The longest-tenured team member who was celebrated is Debbie Archer, who works in the hospital’s Cashier’s Office located in the Main Rotunda. Debbie has been working at Ross Memorial Hospital for 45 years, having started in May 1979. She spent her first decade at the hospital working in the kitchen, before moving over to her current role running the Cashier’s Office, which falls under our Accounting Department.

The accumulative number of years served by the 151 Long Service Award recipients is 1,815 years.

Sixteen individuals received an Excellence Award this year across four categories;

Quotes

“It is an honour for our hospital to celebrate the members of our Ross family marking significant career milestones and those being recognized for displaying excellence in their work. They’ve shown tremendous devotion to our patients, their loved ones, and everyone in our community who relies on the exceptional care Ross Memorial Hospital provides. Congratulations to these team members who have exemplified professionalism, commitment, and served as leaders throughout our hospital.”

- Kelly Isfan, President & CEO, Ross Memorial Hospital

“It feels more like 25 years than it does 45. I’ve had a lot of good days here, met a lot of really good people. Especially in my job, you see a lot of people coming and going and you’re able to help them. It makes my day to get someone from A to B because they don’t know this building like I do – I know this hospital inside and out.”

- Debbie Archer, 45-year Long Service Award recipient, Cashier’s Office, Accounting, Ross Memorial Hospital

“My father instilled in me how important a great work ethic is and I have never wavered from that. We are all on the same team and anything we can do to help our patients, or our fellow co-workers is a what it’s all about.”

- Jill Carew, Patient Access Clerk, Diagnostic Imaging, Ross Memorial Hospital, 2024 Respectful Communicator Excellence Award Winner
